Poem-A-Day April 6: fireflies

Myth

Each tree is in love
with one star.

Their tears come to life
as fireflies.

We sometimes feel them
burning our eyes.

Today’s poem by Ata Moharreri can be found in the lovely anthology Poetry Is Not A Luxury: Poems for All Seasons (2025), a collection assembled by @poetryisnotaluxury.
